Scenes of wreckage and disaster left in the wake of a violent "twister" that swept through northem Texas and Oklahoma: 1. Woodward, Okla., practically leveled. 2. Higgins, Texas, all but wiped out. 3. Some of the hundred injured and made homeless by the "big blow".
One of the three separate tornadoes which swept through parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle reduced the town of  Leedy, Okla., to the shattered shambles shown above. Some of the 600 residents lost their homes, six persons were killed
and 23 injured.

Family Escapes Tornado’s Fury
The town of Sharon, in northwestern Pennsylvania, was a shambles after a sudden twister tore through it, wrecking homes, uprooting trees, etc., killing five persons and injuring 45.
A tornado which struck unexpectedly at Tinker Airfarce base near Oklahoma City destroyed 50 planes and damaged another 50. Photo shows remains of two A-54 transports after the twister had wrecked them. Damage was estimated at $15,000,000.
Wirephoto shows one lumber mill tower standing and a stack broken like a twig after a tornado Ieveledthe.town of Warren, Ark. A series of twisters and tornados swept through Arkansas and Louisiana, killing 59 and injuring between 250 and 350 persons.
Mrs. Dewey Varnurn points to a corner of the cellar of her home in Cape Girardeau, Mo., where she and her husband and daughter crouched while a tornado carried away the house. The twister took 15 lives and injured hundreds.
